Privacy Notice

Last updated · 6 June 2026

Please note. This is a plain-language summary tailored to JLPTPRO, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by qualified counsel before relying on it publicly.

1 · What we collect

Account data you give us — your email, password (stored hashed), birthdate and country (used for age/eligibility), and a display name if you add one.

Learning data the Service generates as you use it — stories read, words and kanji seen, quiz and mock-exam answers and scores, streaks and goals — so we can show your progress and pick what to review next.

Basic technical data — device, browser and approximate region — to keep the Service secure and working.

2 · Microphone & speech

Pronunciation practice uses your microphone, with your permission, to score what you say. Where possible the audio is processed in your browser and is not uploaded. We do not sell voice data. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your browser or device settings.

3 · How we use it

To provide and personalise your learning, track progress, keep your account secure, respond to support requests, and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal data.

4 · Children

Children under 13 in the United States may not create an account (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

5 · Cookies

We use essential cookies (for example, to keep you signed in) and may use limited analytics to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser.

6 · Your choices & contact

You can access, correct or delete your account data from your settings, or by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data.
