These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and JLPTPRO ("JLPTPRO", "we", "us") and govern your access to and use of the JLPTPRO website, apps and services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, or by using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

JLPTPRO is a story-first learning service for the Japanese language and the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT, levels N5–N1). It includes interactive stories and reading, in-browser pronunciation practice, vocabulary, kanji and grammar tools, practice quizzes, full-length mock exams, and progress tracking.

The Service is provided for educational purposes only. We do not guarantee any particular learning outcome, score, or that you will pass the JLPT or any other examination.

JLPTPRO is an independent study tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Japan Foundation, Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES), or any official JLPT body.

Our mock exams, scores, and certificates are practice tools and study estimates only. They are not official JLPT tests, results, scores, or certificates, and carry no official standing. To sit the real exam you must register through the official JLPT site (jlpt.jp) and your local host institution. Exam dates, fees and deadlines shown in the Service are provided for convenience and may change — always confirm them on the official site.

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

Children under 13 years of age in the United States may not create an account, in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Where you are located, additional minimum-age or parental-consent rules may apply; by signing up you confirm you meet them.

You may not share, sell or transfer your account, and you may not use the Service on behalf of anyone else without authorisation.

You agree not to: copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the content of the Service; reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code or datasets; interfere with or overload the Service; circumvent access controls or usage limits; or use the Service for anything unlawful, infringing, or harmful.

You agree not to misrepresent practice results as official, or use mock-exam outputs to deceive third parties.

The pronunciation/speech features use your device’s microphone, with your permission, to score what you say. Where possible this happens in your browser. How we handle any audio or speech data is described in our Privacy Notice. You can decline or revoke microphone access at any time through your browser or device settings.

The Service and its content — including stories, audio narration, exercises, vocabulary, kanji and grammar data, software, branding and design — are owned by JLPTPRO or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own, non-commercial learning. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Some photography used in the Service is provided by third parties under Creative Commons licences and remains the property of its respective authors.

You keep ownership of any content you submit (for example, feedback or text you enter). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content as needed to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to anything you submit.

Parts of the Service are free. Where paid plans are offered, the price, billing period and features are shown at the point of purchase and are charged through our payment processor. Unless stated otherwise or required by law, payments are non-refundable and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel future renewals at any time from your account settings.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content (including exam dates, blueprints or scoring) is complete or accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JLPTPRO will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, or exam outcome, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, and we may update these Terms, at any time. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that may cause harm. You may stop using the Service at any time.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which JLPTPRO is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (The governing jurisdiction will be specified here before public launch.)
